Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Ahmedabad
Arrive at Ahmedabad airport and meet with our representative for a transfer to your hotel. After freshening up, we will visit the Gandhi Ashram, located by the peaceful Sabarmati River. This was Mahatma Gandhi’s center for his Satyagraha movement, and it now stands as a memorial. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 02: Ahmedabad to Poshina
After breakfast, drive to Poshina. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and refresh. Later, we will explore the tribal villages surrounding Poshina. We will meet the Garasia tribal community, known for their colorful attire and intricate jewelry. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 03: Full Day in Poshina
Today, enjoy a full-day excursion to Danta village, home to the Dungri Garasia tribes. These communities, due to limited agricultural land, are known for their sustainable living practices. Return to Poshina in the evening for an overnight stay.
Day 04: Poshina to Patan, Modhera, and Dasada
After breakfast, depart for Dasada, visiting Patan and Modhera on the way. In Patan, witness the traditional art of Patola weaving and explore the Rani Ki Vav, an architectural marvel and step well. Continue to Modhera to visit the Sun Temple, an architectural wonder dedicated to the Sun God. Later, drive to Dasada and check into your hotel for the night.
Day 05: Dasada and the Rann of Kutch
Enjoy a jeep safari in the Little Rann of Kutch to spot wildlife such as wild ass, blackbucks, nilgai, and various migratory birds. In the afternoon, visit nearby tribal villages, including the Rabari and Bhairwad communities, renowned for their weaving and artisanal crafts. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 06: Dasada to Bhuj
After breakfast, drive to Bhuj and check into your hotel. After refreshing, visit the local tribal markets, and in the evening, enjoy some leisure time before returning to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 07: Bhuj to Banni Villages and Back
Embark on a full-day excursion to the Banni region, visiting the villages of Hodka, Ludiya, and Dhordo. Meet the local communities, including the Jat, Harijan, and Meghwal tribes, and learn about their traditional arts such as embroidery and leatherwork. Return to Bhuj in the evening for an overnight stay.
Day 08: Exploring Bhujodi and Surrounding Villages
Visit the village of Bhujodi, known for its skilled weavers who create thick shawls and blankets. Then, travel to Tundav to explore the Rabari community, famous for their woolen clothes and weaving skills. Later, visit Nirona village, where lacquered wooden crafts are produced. Return to Bhuj for the night.
Day 09: Bhuj to Wankaner via Dholavira
After breakfast, head to Wankaner, stopping to explore the archaeological site of Dholavira, an ancient Harappan civilization settlement. Continue your drive to Wankaner and check into your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 10: Wankaner to Jambughoda
Today, visit the Lothal ruins, another significant site from the Harappan era, before heading to Champaner. Explore the ancient Champaner Fort and learn about its fascinating history, including its capture by the famous Sultan Muhammad Begada in the 15th century. Continue your journey to Jambughoda, where you’ll check into your hotel for the night.
Day 11: Jambughoda and Chhota Udepur
After breakfast, take a full-day excursion to Chhota Udepur to visit the villages of Rathwa and Nayak tribes. Explore the local weekly market and see the unique Pithora paintings in the homes of the villagers. Return to Jambughoda for an overnight stay.
Day 12: Jambughoda to Ahmedabad
After breakfast, return to Ahmedabad. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend the evening at leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 13: Departure from Ahmedabad
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your onward journey, marking the end of your enriching tribal heritage tour.
